About Me

I was born and raised in Hawaii, on the island of Oahu. I moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2007 and earned a law degree from Willamette University. I am currently a licensed attorney in the State of Washington. Along my legal journey, my passion for food reached new heights. Frankly, it helped to have friends who enjoyed eating and preparing delicious meals.

I've been a huge pro wrestling fan for over 20 years. While people my age probably idolized the likes of Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior, I was (and still am) a big Bret Hart fan. I still regularly watch WWE and TNA shows. Before life really got busy, I watched the lesser-known promotions like Ring of Honor and Dragon Gate. I've rated pro wrestling matches on my blog since July 2007. I've literally watched tens of thousands of matches, only giving the coveted five-star rating 13 times. As of January 2013, probably only two or three have been mentioned on my wrestling ratings blog. It's a purely subjective rating, and I understand if you thought a certain match was better or worse than what I gave it.

I started Aaron's Food Adventures started in May 2011 as a hobby. My first few posts were admittedly short and tended to be very harsh. Now, with a better understanding of the food business, I hope to help the small businesses get more exposure.

You'll see that I give ratings on my food reviews. Frankly, I still wouldn't take each rating real seriously. At the end of the day, it's still just one person's opinion. Not everyone has the same taste buds or overall experience at a food establishment.

In summer 2012, I started a YouTube channel originally intending to be an expansion of my food blog. The focus of my channel would have highlighted many of the places I eat at. With Portland known for its hundreds of food carts, I probably would have focused most of my time on that.

Then I got addicted to spicy food. With that, the "Spicochist" was born. If you or someone you know likes watching a guy torture himself with random foods -- varying in spice or quantity -- my channel is for you!

Trust me, I do eat "normal" meals. Otherwise, my stomach would have abandoned me a long time ago and I would have likely scored a feature on the Darwin Awards website.

I'm active on Facebook and Twitter, so head on over and follow me there as well!
